Recipes and activities to combat the winter blues
It's already February again, or still February... Some people love winter. What wouldn't you do for 30°C in the shade? Unfortunately, this isn't possible right now; you can only dream about it. One thing is certain, though: winter drains many people's energy, and chronic lethargy sets in. The body doesn't get enough sun and energy. We want to help you get out of this rut with a few tricks.
Energy and vitamin boost with a homemade ginger shot
This shot, despite its simplicity, is a secret recipe... Why? Because it's a cure-all! It helps with inflammation, an upset stomach, headaches, and strengthens the heart, circulation, and immune system. Because ginger is consumed raw, all the vitamins are passed directly to the body.
You only need:
• 100g ginger
• 3 lemons
• 100g honey
(if you want you can add 1 apple)
for about 300g of the magic potion
It’s that easy:
Carefully wash the ginger and, if desired, the apple, as the peel will also be used. Then core the apple and cut it and the ginger into small pieces. These are then placed in a blender. Add the juice of the three lemons. Now just add the honey and blend for about 2 minutes! Now you can transfer the juice to another container. The shot will keep in the refrigerator for about 4 days.
We hope this little energy boost will help you get through the winter!
The healthy energy snack!
Another energy source would be energy balls! These little sweet spheres are ideal for snacking. They also help you get going. These balls are currently very trendy. The nuts provide enough fiber, and the fruit provides enough vitamins. The honey puts you in a good mood! The perfect combination, everything you need!
With this amount you will get about 15 balls
• 100g almonds
• 60g cashews
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 10 pitted dates
• 70g oat flakes
• 70g cocoa powder
• 100g coconut flakes
You need to put the almonds, cashews, honey, cocoa powder, and pitted dates into a blender. (You can also chop them by hand if you don't have a blender.) Blend everything until a sticky mixture forms. Add the oats and blend again. Prepare the coconut flakes. Now you can start forming the balls and then place them in the coconut flakes. Tada! The miracle balls are now ready! Enjoy! They'll keep in the fridge for about 2 weeks!
