Hello Spring! - Tips for short walks

We've been at home a lot in recent weeks due to the coronavirus crisis and the associated restrictions. Unfortunately, we'll probably have to wait a while longer before we can meet up with all our friends at the ice cream parlor or beer garden again. Nevertheless, we can get some fresh air and take a short walk!

With this blog, we want to encourage you to go for walks to really enjoy spring and the beautiful weather this year! Just a glance out the window shows you: the sun is shining, nature has awakened from its hibernation, and the first flowers are already blooming. Despite everything, spring is showing its best side this year and delighting us with bright sunshine and warm temperatures. So slip into your light sneakers more often over the next few days and go for a short walk! Because even in times of Corona, there's nothing wrong with getting some exercise in the fresh air. On a short walk, we can let the sun shine on our heads and soak up some vitamin D. We can enjoy the blooming plants and gain a little strength to cope with everyday life.

We'll tell you how to do everything right on your walks during the coronavirus crisis and how you can still enjoy time in the fresh air.

First of all, it's important to say that it's expressly permitted to go for a walk or do sports outside. Exercise in the fresh air is even recommended, as it helps us stay fit, strengthen our immune systems, and clear our heads. Nevertheless, the basic rules must still be followed while taking a walk in the fresh air. It's very important that you maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters outside, too! Furthermore, in many federal states, you're only allowed to go out with your family members or partner—that is, with the people you live with in the same household. Going out with external people, such as friends and relatives, is not permitted. Avoiding large gatherings is especially important here.

We therefore recommend avoiding rush hour and, above all, hotspots. This means avoiding the big park on Saturday afternoons when there are lots of families out and about. Instead, try to be outside more during the week, if possible. Most of us work Monday through Friday, so fewer people can go for a walk at the same time on those days. It's also best to avoid places in your city where you know lots of people like to go for a run or exercise. We therefore recommend quickly slipping on your shoes during your work breaks and taking a short walk around the house. After work is also a great time for a walk. Since it's staying light longer these days, you still have plenty of time for a little exercise in the fresh air after work. This way, you can switch off better and really enjoy your evening. How about an after-work drink on the balcony or in the garden after your walk? :)

Maybe you work from home and can organize your hours a little more flexibly. Or maybe you have a little free time during the week. Spend a little more time outside and take a longer walk. This way, you can really enjoy the beautiful spring weather and maybe even discover some colorful spring flowers. A small bouquet for the house will definitely fit in your leather shoulder bag or small leather backpack ;-).

Have fun walking!
