Which bag really suits you?
You can never have enough bags – no matter the model, you really need them all in every color, shape, and size! After all, we need to be prepared for every eventuality. But which bag really suits your style?
You can choose the right bag for you based on various criteria. Your figure, skin type, style, but also your personality and individual preferences all play a role.
Which bag suits your figure
We feel most comfortable when an accessory highlights our best features and emphasizes our best side, no matter what's currently trendy.
Slim, tall figure
If you've been lucky enough to be both tall and slim, you can't really go wrong. Almost anything suits your figure: whether a clutch or a large tote, they all expertly enhance your outfits. When it comes to shapes and designs, you can indulge your shopping cravings without restraint. The only thing you should be careful about is the size of the bag. Don't choose anything too huge, as it will only make you look taller. So, for a weekender, it's better to choose a medium size. The same goes for smaller bags. It's better not to go for the smallest version. It would quickly get lost or look out of place. Always aim for a healthy middle ground.
Small, delicate figure
Smaller bags suit you particularly well. An oversized shopper bag is less suitable for your figure. It would emphasize your lower body and make you appear very small. You should opt for smaller shoulder or crossbody bags instead. If you're particularly slim, round bags are more suitable for your figure. Rectangular bags can quickly make your figure appear angular and boxy.
Feminine curves
Not too thin and not too plump: You should opt for medium-sized bags. They create a harmonious overall look with your body. If you'd like to hide a few pounds, you can go for a slightly larger model; this will make your figure appear slimmer.
Wide hips: Eye-catching, colorful, medium-sized shoulder bags are perfect for drawing attention away from your hips. But be careful: The bag shouldn't hang at hip height, as this would only emphasize your hips. A short strap is better, allowing the bag to sit under your armpit.
Large breasts: The opposite applies to women with wide hips: Try to draw attention away from your upper body and choose a shoulder bag or messenger bag with a long, wide strap. Be careful not to choose a bag that's too small, as this will visually shift the weight upwards. Take our Nathan Messenger Bag, for example.
Strong figure
Unlike petite women, you have the advantage of being able to carry large, rectangular bags. These often conceal any excess weight and harmonize with your proportions. You can easily wear wide shoulder bags and opt for colorful designs or bold prints. Special patterns and striking colors attract attention and distract from our problem areas. However, you should avoid small bags like clutches, as they would put your figure in a rather unflattering light. Overly round shapes can also quickly add a few more pounds to the visual appearance. Try to lean toward more angular shapes to balance your curves.
Which bag suits your color and skin type
We all have different skin, eye, and hair colors. The colors that suit us best are those that perfectly harmonize with these characteristics. Four different types are distinguished. The distinction is made by two characteristics. The first is the warm and cool tones of the color, and the second is the color intensity. This results in the spring, autumn, summer, and winter types. Not sure what your color type is yet? Then you can either attend a special course where you'll receive advice, or take it into your own hands. You can find various tips and online tests online.
Spring type:
Spring types have light hair colors with a warm undertone. Examples include dark blonde, strawberry blonde, copper, or honey blonde. Their skin is very fair, but also has a warm undertone. They usually also have freckles. Their eye color is always between gray-green, blue, or amber. If you're a spring type, you'll particularly like warm and light colors like turquoise, mustard yellow, cheerful green, or apricot tones. So, if you want to emphasize your type with a beautiful bag, you'll find the SELMA in mustard yellow in our range.
Autumn type:
Autumn types have a warm complexion with golden undertones. Their eye color is usually between amber, brown-green, and dark brown. Unlike spring types, their hair color tends to be darker, such as chocolate or dark brown. Honey blonde or light brown is less common. As an autumn type, you're suited to warm, dark colors. These include warm brown and earth tones like olive and beige, as well as petrol, vibrant red, and orange. In our shop, you'll find, for example, the TRISH bag in a rich red or various bags in earth tones.
Summer type:
Summer types usually have hair colors ranging from silver blonde, platinum blonde, to ash blonde or brown. Their hair has a silver-gray undertone. Their skin tone also has a cool, bluish tinge, sometimes pink. Their skin never tans or only tans slightly. Their eyes are usually blue, green, or gray. Summer types should wear cool, light colors to emphasize their best features. Examples include gray or pastel brown, shades of blue, pastel green, or light pink. In our shop, you'll find, for example, the NIK bucket bag in gray or this blue JAX model, which are a great fit for your type.
Winter type:
If you have a light skin tone with a bluish undertone, you're probably a winter type. The hair color of winter types is usually dark without a golden shimmer. Winter types usually have dark eyes in bold colors like hazel or chocolate brown. Cool and dark colors suit you best. These include bold gray or blue, dark green, and burgundy. You can find the JEMMA clutch or the HALEY clutch in felt and leather in these colors.
Ultimately, the decision is entirely yours. Don't view these tips as set in stone—they're just rough guidelines meant to inspire you. You know best what you need and want. If you absolutely love a color but it doesn't suit your color type, it's not the end of the world. Well-matched, it can still look great with your outfit. If you want an all-rounder, black or brown leather always works, regardless of your figure or type. If you're slim but need a huge bag for traveling, you can of course use that too. Only you can judge which bag truly suits your personality, your needs, and your style.
Sometimes it's simply best to listen to your intuition. Only you know what's already hanging in your closet. However, you should be careful not to buy twice. Think carefully about what you need. You won't need 30 black bags. Instead, invest in one or two high-quality models. And if you're unsure, don't rush into buying something. Take your time and sleep on it.
Best regards
Your Michelle
