Retro-design bags were given an update with cool style and functionality for up-to-date gadgets like iPhones, tablets, etc. Friends and other students began to spread the word about the brand, and now, thanks in part to the internet, the brand is available worldwide.

What began as a personal search for the ideal bag by two Stanford students has evolved into a brand with a clear vision: SID & VAIN stands for stylish functionality, sustainable materials, and fair manufacturing. With a special focus on genuine leather and minimalist design, they create bags that are a stylish companion for everyday life at university, work, or while traveling. Developed in Switzerland with urban inspiration from Munich, SID & VAIN combines a closeness to nature with a modern lifestyle in every model. Chrome-free tanned: Environmentally friendly leather with quality
Genuine leather can be not only durable but also sustainable when processed responsibly. At SID & VAIN, we rely on chrome-free tanned leather, which does not contain harmful chemicals. Instead of chromium salts, we use plant-based or alternative, harmless tanning agents that make the leather naturally durable while also being more environmentally friendly. This gentler method not only reduces the impact on people and the environment, but also makes each bag a conscious statement of quality and responsibility. The result is a natural material that is breathable, robust, and above all, one thing: sustainably thought out.

Our bags are created in close collaboration with select family businesses in India, where authentic craftsmanship has been passed down for generations.
