myBagFactory Wanderlust – Where we are most drawn to

Wanderlust: “the desire to travel and visit many different places” .

The desire to travel far away and visit many different places probably lies dormant in most of us. Especially due to the many travel restrictions last year and the few opportunities to discover distant destinations, the desire for a new adventure in the form of a trip has become very strong, at least in our team. While we usually use almost every vacation day of the year to have a nice vacation or an exciting trip, our suitcases have had to stay in the basement for far too long and without their dust bag our leather travel bag would have been pretty dusty by now. But until we can pack our bags and suitcases again, all we can do is dream about traveling. Kathi, Kay, Katha and Katrin from the myBagFactory team tell you here which places and trips they are currently dreaming of. Enjoy reading and dream along with us.

Kathi

I'm dreaming of a two-week girls' getaway on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I'd fly, as it would take at least 14 hours by car from Munich. I'd rent a car once I got there. I'd stay in a small vacation home or hostel at each location 😊

My Kane suitcase is a must-have for any trip, as it has multiple compartments for organizing my luggage. It also protects my most important belongings with its durable, waterproof, and most importantly, recycled material.

Places I would visit:

Positano (heart of the Amalfi Coast), Amalfi, Pogerola, Sorrento, Cetera (old fishing village + two beaches surrounded by rocks), Conca dei Marini (home to the Grotta Smeraldo), Furore (hiking)

Things I really want to see/do:

• Boat tour along the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri
• Wine tasting and lunch
• Discover Pompeii with archaeologists
• Production of Limoncello
• Riding on horseback to Mount Vesuvius
• Hiking (always bring bikinis in case we pass by beaches)
• Sunbathe on the beach (e.g. Spiaggia di Atrani)
• Grotta dello Smeraldo + other sights that we discover on site.

For all my outings, I take my practical mobile phone pouch, Kjell, with me, which I use to safely store my money and always have my phone handy for photos.

Why exactly the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast has actually been on my bucket list for a long time. I've always wanted to explore the picturesque villages perched on the cliffs. I also read a book about Pompeii and its destruction, so I was eager to visit the city in person.

Kay

I'd love to be in Ecuador or the Galapagos Islands right now. Why? Because it's still snowing in Germany in April, and I miss the warm weather. I'd also like to go diving again. The ocean there is especially beautiful. I'd love to immediately pack my Sons of Aloha Kane duffel bag and matching backpack and head out of the office and the city into the beautiful natural surroundings of Ecuador.

Katha

I would love to travel to Iceland now. I've never been there before, but it's been a dream of mine for some time to experience its breathtaking nature with my own eyes. Especially now in spring, Iceland has the fewest rainy days of the year, making it the perfect time to travel there. My partner and I would rent a holiday home and escape from everyday life by going hiking with my new leather backpack, the VAL . When I visit the island, I would of course definitely like to bathe in a hot spring and, after a few days of pure relaxation in nature, explore Iceland's capital, Reykjavik. I'm not sure yet whether I want to try one of the unusual Icelandic dishes, like Blóðmör - soured sheep's blood sausage with sweet whey. If necessary, I can book a holiday with Hverabrauð - Icelandic pumpernickel and skyr.

Katrin

What I'm most longing for right now is a proper wellness vacation. Preferably in a beautiful hotel in Austria. Since I'm doing a dual study program and have a lot of university work to do alongside my work at myBagFactory, I'm pretty busy. A few days of relaxation and wellness with good food would be great to recharge my batteries. I've often traveled to Austria with my family, and that's why I know there are really nice hotels there. The Austrians are incredibly hospitable and serve truly delicious food 😉. There are also a few hotels there that have horses. Since I've loved riding since I was a child, a ride in the mountains is always the absolute highlight of my vacation! Before breakfast, I'd go for a swim in the pool and then go on a short hike with my small backpack, DINA . After a lunchtime snack at the hotel, I could relax in the sauna or enjoy a back massage before preparing for the evening meal. To match my chic dress for dinner at the hotel and a drink at the bar, I'll, of course, take my new handbag, SVEA, with me.

We're sure it won't be long before our dreams come true and we can pack our bags for our next trip. Until then, we'll simply reminisce about our past travels, dream of beautiful places, and make life at home beautiful.
