myBagFactory tips: Round trips and walks along Bavarian lakes
Unfortunately, we can't go to the movies or enjoy our favorite food at a restaurant right now. Nevertheless, we all need a break from work or university. Therefore, we'd like to share with you our three favorite routes for beautiful walks in Bavaria that you can take in your free time to clear your head. Because walks not only stimulate circulation, they can also have a relaxing effect, especially in the beautiful, cold, and fresh winter air.
For your walk, don't forget sturdy shoes, warm clothing, and a backpack with something to drink and eat!
Please always maintain a minimum distance from others, even outdoors! Also consider the 15km distance between new infections if there are >200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days! (As of January 10, 2021)
Beautiful circular route around Lake Wörth

Lake Wörth is the small and unknown, yet beautiful, neighbor of the famous Ammersee. From Munich, you should allow about an hour's drive. It is the third largest lake in the Five Lakes Region, which includes Lake Ammersee, Lake Wörthsee, Lake Weßlinger See, Lake Pilsensee, and Lake Starnberg. While most cities tend to be muddy, the snow around Lake Wörth is beautiful, fresh, and white at this time of year.
The circular route takes approximately 3.30 hours and is approximately 11 km long. This makes it a relaxing and family-friendly circular route. The route around Lake Wörth is suitable for romantic strolls, small family hikes, short winter bike rides, and even as a jogging path for athletes.
The trail leads along the shore and through the nearby villages of Bachern, Walchstadt, and Steinebach. It combines culture with nature, as small cultural and historical events can be observed along the hike. The parking lot at the Steinebach town hall square is an ideal starting point. Then simply follow the road to the right. If you glance briefly to the left, you will see a pavilion with a collection of Celts. The circular trail is signposted, so it's impossible to get lost! There are other cultural phenomena along the trail that you can see if you look a little more closely. The only island in the lake is Mouse Island. The island got its name from a legend. The legend says that a heartless count fled to the island because he was being pursued by mice who wanted to punish him for his hard-heartedness. The mice followed him to the island, which ultimately led to his death. The island has been owned by the Count of Seefeld for hundreds of years. There is a small castle on the island, which belongs to the family.
The path around Lake Wörth is a small circular route that has much more to it!
A walk along Lake Starnberg, a classic!
Lake Starnberg is a classic, so it naturally couldn't be missed here. It's one of the five largest lakes in Bavaria. It also became so famous because the former King of Bavaria is said to have drowned there. At that time, the lake was still called Würmsee. The lake is beautiful, set in all its splendor against the backdrop of the mountains.
The lake offers many beautiful trails. One appealing route, for example, is from Ambach to Ammerland. It takes about 1.5 hours and runs along the beautiful shore of the lake. The starting point is the Starnberg parking lot near Münsing, Germany. Then, simply follow the shoreline. On this route, you can visit a small chapel called Kapelle Ambach. Once you arrive in Ammerland, you can rent a boat and take a leisurely tour across the lake. A perfect ending! A short walk for all Starnberg lovers!
Eibsee circular trail with a view of the Zugspitze
The third beautiful circular walk takes you around Lake Eibsee. This route takes 2.30 hours and is a bit challenging, but it impresses with some of the most beautiful scenery. In addition to the beautiful scenery around the lake, you can also see the Zugspitze during the hike.
The best starting point for your hike is the parking lot at the Eibsee Hotel. The short hike begins from there. First, you should head toward the lake, from where the path leads along the shore. A bridge divides the lake into the Untersee and Weitsee lakes. The Weitsee is the main part of the Eibsee, while the Untersee is a small indentation. Just keep following the path and don't be surprised, as you can either walk along the shore or through the forest.
This beautiful mountain lake is definitely worth a visit!
We hope you have fun trying out the routes.
