Packing list for your beach vacation

Summer, sun, sea... beach vacation! Are you already longing for some relaxation by the sea with a good book in one hand and an ice cream in the other? Perhaps you've already planned your next beach vacation and are currently packing your bags?

Unfortunately, experience shows that this relaxation doesn't really happen in the first place because you spend too much time thinking about everything you need for your vacation. And then you get stressed right at the start of your vacation because you realize you forgot something important.

To prevent this from happening to you and to ensure you can start your well-deserved vacation without too much stress, we have put together a packing list with everything you absolutely need for your beach vacation.

Suitcase packing list

1. Clothing

One thing's for sure when traveling to the seaside: you'll need plenty of airy clothing. For example, dresses, shorts, and sandals, like the beautiful AVA smooth leather sandals from Baccini. They go with any summer outfit and are a real eye-catcher in nice weather.

Unfortunately, bad weather can also occur at the seaside, so you should keep this in mind and pack some warmer, waterproof clothes. To fit all of this into your luggage, it's worth getting a suitcase set , as you'll always have the right suitcase in the right size, no matter how long you're traveling! With the CANNES suitcase set , for example, you have three suitcases that you can fill with the following things for your vacation:

  • T-shirts, tops (number depending on the length of the holiday)
  • Shorts and shorts
  • Long trousers for the evening
  • Thin long-sleeved shirts, sweaters
  • cardigans
  • Dresses, skirts
  • Jacket for the evening
  • Sneakers, sturdy shoes for excursions, activities
  • Summer shoes
  • Sportswear, tracksuit
  • Underwear, sneaker socks
  • Rain jacket for emergencies
  • Light nightwear
  • sunglasses
  • Swimwear (several to change into if needed)
  • Bathing shoes
  • Sun hat, cap
  • Jewelry

2. Things for the beach

These must-haves are a must-have for a beach holiday and must definitely be taken to the beach:

  • Swimwear
  • Beach towels
  • Air mattress or similar with air pump
  • Sunscreen with the highest possible sun protection factor
  • Sun hat and sunglasses
  • Book or magazine
  • Possibly beach games & sand toys
  • Parasol or beach tent
  • Swimming goggles
  • Fins & Snorkeling
  • Cooler bag and batteries
  • Possibly bathing shoes

Finally, to be able to transport all these things to the beach, you'll also need one or two large beach bags . The NELLA beach bag made of canvas and leather (left) or the large PIPER bag (right), both from our brand Sid & Vain, are ideal for this.

3. Cosmetic products and medicines

And, of course, don't forget your cosmetics and medications. While you can buy most things locally at most vacation destinations, many are unavailable or considerably more expensive abroad. Therefore, it's worth using a packing list to help you with this as well.

  • Towels and washcloths if necessary
  • bathrobe
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste
  • Shower gel + hair shampoo
  • Deodorant, perfume
  • hairbrush
  • Hair ties and hair clips
  • Hair dryer, curling iron, straightener
  • shaving equipment
  • Body lotion

  • Après-Sun Lotion
  • Make up
  • Makeup remover wipes
  • Nail polish + remover
  • handkerchiefs
  • Condoms and the pill
  • Tampons and pads
  • nail scissors, nail file
  • Painkillers
  • Remedy for diarrhea, constipation, stomach problems
  • Travel tablets relieve nausea
  • Wound and burn ointment
  • Disinfectant spray
  • Fever thermometer
  • Pavement

To quickly find these bathroom essentials, and especially your travel medication, when needed without having to spend hours rummaging through your suitcase or toiletry bag, we recommend a leather toiletry bag with a well-thought-out interior. The HEATHROW hanging toiletry bag from Sid & Vain, for example, has several small pockets and mesh interiors so you can store everything neatly and take it with you on vacation.

4. Important documents and other information

But the most important thing you need to pack is still to come: your documents, devices, and a few useful little things!

  • Possibly foreign currency
  • Cash, debit card and credit card
  • Identity card and passport if necessary
  • Insurance number & foreign insurance letter
  • Important telephone numbers (insurance, bank, doctor)
  • Addresses of friends for postcards
  • Driving license and vaccination certificate
  • Hotel documents and possibly flight/train ticket
  • travel guide
  • dictionary
  • Possibly visa
  • Possibly (international) driving license
  • Camera & charging cable (SD card)
  • Mobile phone with charging cable and power bank
  • socket adapter
  • headphones
  • Notebook or pad
  • Writing utensils
  • flashlight
  • Corkscrew and can opener
  • Games
  • Neck pillow
  • drinking bottle

Since important documents can often be lost or stolen abroad, you should always keep an eye on them. Especially when you go swimming, don't leave valuables on the beach! It's best to store important travel documents in a small handbag , such as the FRAN shoulder bag in black smooth leather by Sid & Vain. You can then store this in your hotel room safe and only take a small amount of money to the beach for ice cream and drinks.
