#WeStayHome – But what should we do? Our tips for passing the time

Whether we're working from home or not, most of us are probably spending more time at home than usual right now. Because of the current situation surrounding the coronavirus, we're all being encouraged to stay indoors as much as possible and only leave the house for a valid reason. Even if we all try to follow these guidelines, we're sure we'll all feel a bit overwhelmed in the next few days. Because let's be honest, if we're at home all day, and for an extended period, we'll eventually run out of ideas for meaningful activities, and then all we want to do is go outside or go shopping.

To avoid this, we have come up with a few useful and enjoyable ideas for staying at home, which will hopefully keep you from getting too bored in your house or apartment over the next few days.

Take care of your leather products again

Have you already done your spring cleaning and your house or apartment is shining like never before? We have an idea of what else you can do! Why not take care of your leather products again? With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often don't find the time to properly care for our favorite leather bags or shoes. They quickly crack or develop scratches and no longer shine as beautifully as they did when they were new. So take the time now to properly pamper your leather products. You can learn how to best care for leather and, above all, which leather care product you need for each type of leather in our leather care guide . Here you will find all the important information and tips on leather care. Your favorite leather items will surely thank you :)

And if you happen to have an old leather item that you can no longer use but don't want to simply throw away, you can also craft something new out of it. A beautiful leather bracelet or a leather keychain, for example. We've put together a few ideas for you on our "Cool DIY Ideas with and from Leather" board on Pinterest .

Create or craft something beautiful

The internet is full of DIYs and craft ideas. There are countless instructions on how to craft, make, or cook something from almost any material imaginable. But even though we often see these ideas on Instagram, Pinterest, and the like, we rarely take the time to actually try them out. So here's your chance! Finally try a project you've been planning for a long time but haven't done yet. How about, for example, some beautiful spring decorations to create that perfect spring feeling at home? You can also prepare for Easter by dyeing Easter eggs or making Easter baskets. We've found a few instructions for you on our "Spring Feelings - DIY and Tips for Spring" Pinterest board .

There are also some great upcycling ideas and DIY projects for reusing items you no longer need. Currently trending are upcycling ideas for cans and tetra packs. You can use them to create beautiful flower baskets or a birdhouse for your garden or balcony. Or how about a cute little bag made from leftover chocolate wrappers from your last TV binge? We've linked all of these tutorials to the "Bored? MyBagFactory Tips for Boring Days" board on our Pinterest page . You'll also find a few ideas for what you can do with your leftover toilet paper rolls. Take a look and get inspired ;)

Bring your favorite leisure activities home

All of the tips mentioned are certainly a nice way to pass the time and will definitely bring us some joy. But we also know that they can't replace some of our favorite leisure activities. Of course, we'd love to go to the cinema, the swimming pool, or simply exercise and meet up with our friends to chat. That's not possible at the moment. But there's no reason to despair! We can also bring some activities home. Instead of going to the cinema, we simply bring the cinema home. You can probably find your favorite film on Amazon or Netflix, or even have it on DVD. With homemade popcorn and a darkened room, a movie night on the couch is almost more comfortable than going to the cinema. Don't you think? Of course, unless we happen to have our own pool in the backyard or our own gym in the basement, we might soon miss the exercise or wellness and no longer feel as good. But that doesn't have to be the case. You can easily do a little exercise at home without any equipment. There are many home workouts for this on YouTube. And after a strenuous workout, you could treat yourself to a spa evening at home. For example, take a warm bath or indulge in some serious pampering. For example, you could take the time to paint your nails or make your own face mask and pamper your skin.

Many of us are probably already missing our friends – understandably! Especially with this beautiful spring weather, we'd love to meet up in the park or at an ice cream parlor just to chat. A good alternative, one that many are already using, is Skype or video chat. When the weather's nice, you can all sit down on your own balcony or in the garden with your laptop and enjoy a group chat with your friends. Almost as if you were actually sitting together. Why not take an ice cream or an after-work beer outside to replace a meeting at the ice cream parlor or beer garden as best as possible? Have fun! :D

Make others happy and cheer them up

Finally, we have a tip for how you can bring joy not only to yourself but also to others. Because not only we, but especially the residents of retirement homes and facilities for people with disabilities, are missing the support of their families, who they usually visit regularly. This is currently not permitted, and all community events, such as church services and festivals, have been canceled for the foreseeable future.

We therefore want to encourage you to cheer up the members of our residential homes and workshops. A great way to bring joy to the residents is to write them kind letters or send them pictures. Simply write a short, encouraging letter and send it to a retirement home, workshop for the disabled, or support center in your area. This is also a great activity for children, who could write a short letter or simply paint a picture. It's a great way to spend time with these people, giving them strength and brightening up their day.

We hope you've been able to gather some ideas for the next few days. Feel free to check out our Pinterest and Instagram pages. We'll continue to share tips and tricks for passing the time at home there in the near future. Because even if it gets boring sometimes,

#westayathome and simply look for good alternatives for the near future!

Hang in there and stay healthy!
